FOLSOM

Welcome to Folsom

Family-oriented town dripping with gold rush history

Adorable vintage homes and family friendly developments dot the charming streets of Folsom, an affluent community known for its breathtaking natural scenery, beautiful bridges, and miles upon miles of bike trails. Its position on the Folsom Lake and Sacramento River plunges residents in the heart of exciting outdoor activities. With 260+ sunny days a year and lush parks to boot, people who choose this city always find it hard to leave.

Originally occupied by gold miners in search of their fortune in the Sierra Nevada foothills, the city was named in honor of Joseph Libbey Folsom, who developed the town after purchasing a ranch from heirs of a San Francisco merchant. Afterward, he lobbied for a railway to connect the town to Sacramento.

Over the years, families have been drawn to Folsom for its excellent schools, vibrant town events, and welcoming community feel. Its historic downtown district features a weekend pedestrian promenade, which is walkable from most homes and offers a variety of shopping and dining, as well as a museum.
